The Camelot wheel is a visual aid developed by Mixed In Key that assigns every musical key a number (1–12) and a letter (A for minor, B for major). Keys next to each other on the wheel sound harmonically compatible.
What is Open Key notation?
Open Key is an alternative notation system used by Native Instruments' software. It uses numbers 1–12 with "d" (dominant/major) or "m" (minor) — e.g. 1d = C major, 1m = A minor. It maps 1-to-1 with Camelot notation.
